IknowiT was founded in 2009 with a broad spectrum of knowledge management in mind, by Koenraad Seys and Christel Decoodt. Combining skills we can guide you through leveraging both formal and informal knowledge sources.
Koenraad Seys – Business and Information Architect and Certified PROSCI Change Management Practitioner
Having studied archival sciences and records management I have since then gained extensive experience (over 25 years) in the domain of document, content and knowledge management. As a management consultant, participating in different phases for the implementation of knowledge management solutions, I performed pre-studies, developed business cases and as project leader / lead consultant implemented packaged solutions and developed taxonomies for better usability of the system and the knowledge contained. In more business oriented project I was Business Analyst implementing Advanced Case Management at DG OLAF and the Belgian Ministry of Finance.
I was involved in defining the electronic records management strategy for the city of Antwerp, Ministery of the Brussels Region and of the digital preservation approach of the Flemish Government. This resulted in a platform and services made available to both the flemish administration and local government in Flanders. Elements are reflected in the DAVID project sponsored by the flemish government (http://www.antwerpen.be/david/eng). The city council of Leuven contacted me for defining the capabilities for an archive management system. I participated in implementing electronic Records Management at European Parliament and Schlumberger (headquarters Paris for international roll-out) and Flemish Parliament (ongoing). In a larger information life cycle context I participated writing the requirements for the digital preservation platform for the Flemish Governement.
I worked for major system integrators as Capgemini, Getronics and Atos Origin where I was involved in project management, business/IT consulting, solution architecture and pre-sales. In the 5 years I worked for Capgemini I started the document management practice and performed pre-studies for Eurocontrol, Médecins sans Frontière, Belgacom e.a. I coordinated implementations for DVV (Livelink) and Ghent city council (Staffware). Later on I was involved in implementing both established ECM platforms and Open Source solutions at Mobistar and the Belgian Senate; selection of ECM platforms at SD WORX, Belgian National Railway company (NMBS/SNCB), Jan De Nul as well as performing a knowledge audit at Agfa Healthcare and knowledge strategy development at SD WORX.
As a knowledge architect I am convinced that the future for organisations is to exploit the knowledge available in the company or in the different constituating communities. Therefore the value of taxonomies, corporate publishing, team collaboration will prevail over, however not exclude the need for structured workflow and application integration. In addition to these more technology driven solutions they need to be complemented on a number of domains such as human resources development and strategy alignment. It will permit to support innovation and to capitalize on acquired knowledge while facilitating knowledge and creativity exchange among employees.
Current introduction of modern technology and practices for corporate governance will emphasise the need for electronic records management while reducing risk and supporting e-discovery initiatives though guarding and leveraging corporate memory. Enterprise Social technology permit distributed organisations and networked collaboration structures set up for providing services and projects to connect, share experience enforce social interaction and connections.
Christel Decoodt – Industrial Psychologist and Master NLP
After having obtained my degree in Germanic Philology I worked as a editor’s and shop assistent and went on the road as a commercial sales representative for a waloon editor (De Boeck) in flanders, marketing and selling its collections of law books (Larcier), schoolbooks (Duculot) and university editions. It was all about building long-term relationships with booksellers.
However, deciding to give an old dream a go, I reorientated my professional carreer engaging in Industrial Psychology (Arbeids- en Organisatie Psychologie) at Brussels University (night program) while at daytime teaching (freelance) dutch, french and english teenage and adult students.
For a couple of years afterwards I worked for a company specialized in recruitment, training and consulting until its closing down.
After its closure I started to work in the HR-department of a major belgian public institution. Here I created and facilitated workshops and trainingcourses in communication, conflictmanagement, teammanagement and did on-the-job coaching. I also participated in the recruitement and selection of both flemish and waloon collaborators.
Recently I started my own coaching business. As a psychologist and master NLP I use methods and techniques based on Neurolinguistic Programming (the perfect combination of my language and psychology degree), cognitive therapy, mindfulness, … For more information have a look at my website
